The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a Station Cook for our Lakeside property. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City.

The Olympic Club offers free meals during work shifts, free golf and tennis on Mondays at our Lakeside campus and a variety of sport and social events for employees throughout the year. Benefits include: vacation, PTO, sick time, holidays, and uniforms. Based on the number of shifts worked, full coverage healthcare is available to employees and their dependents.

Our Station Cooks are members of Local 2. Scheduling is by position seniority with shifts assigned based on operational needs. Candidates must have availability to work flexible schedules including day times, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Under the general guidance of the Executive Chef, check and set-up menu items and replace as necessary, prepare buffet items as needed, prepare and cook menu items, and perform banquet preparation and other duties
  • Assist in the preparation of cold entrees, salads, appetizers, etc. 
  • Prepare foods, such as washing and peeling fruits and vegetables, cutting, chopping and similar duties
  • Maintains sanitation and safety standards at all times in work areas and during food handling, production, and storage
  • Check the food temperatures prior to food being served and during the course of service. Perform other work as assigned

Candidate requirements include:

  • Culinary degree or certificate
  • SafeServe certified or possess a CA State Food Handlers card
  • 1 year experience working in a fast paced kitchen in a Hotel, Club or busy Restaurant
  • Excellent safety and sanitation skills
  • English business/kitchen communication skills required
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
